Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable AWS infrastructure for system migrations, platform growth, and high reliability.
• Own production reliability, performance, security, uptime, incident response, and capacity planning.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure as code with Terraform, Terragrunt, and Chef.
• Monitor infrastructure with Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog, defining metrics and incident response playbooks.
• Drive security-first infrastructure practices and SOC 2 compliance.
• Partner with engineering teams on operational requirements and architecture, while leading on-call response and root cause analysis.

Requirements

• Remote work from Croatia, Spain, or the United Kingdom.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on AWS experience with IAM, VPC, EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Secrets Manager, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, multi-account management, and SSO.
• Experience with Terraform, Chef or Ansible, CI/CD tools, GitOps, Docker, ECS or EKS.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog, plus troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and durable remediation.
• Ability to read Java, Ruby, Bash/Zsh, HCL, Python, and JavaScript; experience with SOC 2 and security-first infrastructure practices; willingness to join a weekly on-call rotation.

Nice to have

• Experience migrating on-premises or colocation workloads to AWS.
• Familiarity with Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, .NET, MongoDB replica sets, ISO 27001, Layer 7 load balancing, or Terragrunt.
• Background in hospitality technology.
• Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent experience.
