Equipment Service Technician I (Weekday Overnights, Mon-Thurs, 6pm - 5am)

Location: Coralville, Iowa, United States; all work is performed on site. Regular travel between IDT locations in Coralville is required. Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.

What you will do

• Maintain the reliability and sustainability of custom automated laboratory equipment in a high-throughput production environment.
• Coordinate and perform preventive maintenance services.
• Respond to unplanned maintenance needs and corrective repairs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, fluidic, optical, and control systems.
• Use computer-based tools to support equipment operation and data analysis.
• Travel between IDT locations in Coralville while supporting safe and efficient equipment operation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with at least one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical, controls, pneumatics, mechanical, fluidic, and optical devices or systems.
• Experience working with computers and data.
• Ability to travel regularly between different IDT locations in Coralville.
• Ability to exert 50–100 pounds of force occasionally or 25–50 pounds frequently.

Nice to have

• Mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience, including use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow diagrams, operating manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Experience testing or troubleshooting automation equipment.
• Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT/EtherCAT, Unitronics, or similar control systems.
