Software Engineer (Quantum Networking)

Develops quantum photonic technology and scalable quantum networking infrastructure to improve the utility and accelerate the commercialisation of quantum computing systems.

What you will do

• Develop software interfaces for proprietary optics, electronics, mechanical hardware, and third-party scientific equipment.
• Build embedded firmware for microcontrollers, SoCs, and FPGA soft cores.
• Develop graphical user interfaces for product demonstrators and measurement control.
• Automate scientific experiments and support internal laboratory software.
• Collaborate with FPGA, electronics, scientists, and engineering specialists on quantum network control systems.
• Create high-quality, testable, and maintainable code while improving workflows and system design.

Requirements

• Experience developing with a compiled language such as Rust or C++.
• Knowledge of embedded systems, including microcontrollers, SoCs, or FPGA soft cores.
• Proficiency with a scripting language such as Python.
• Experience with source control, continuous integration, unit testing, integration testing, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Visa sponsorship is available.

Nice to have

• Strong Rust skills or hands-on experience with FPGAs and microcontrollers.
• Experience creating user interfaces with Dart and Flutter.
• Experience building Linux-based systems with Yocto.
• Familiarity with API principles, RPC protocols, and gRPC.
• Experience with Agile or Agile-inspired methodologies.
