Software Engineer, Intern - 2027 Ashburn, VA

Location: Ashburn, Virginia, United States; at least 3 days per week in the office. The position requires 5–10% travel and is performed in an office setting.

Salary: $41.00–$48.00 per hour for U.S. applicants.

What you will do

• Build self-service deployment solutions for Kafka clusters using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Develop chatbots, mobile banking applications, monitoring tools, and payment technology prototypes.
• Automate processes with low-latency algorithms and create tools for identifying system errors.
• Design, code, and test software for routing digital currency transactions.
• Support software lifecycle activities and apply secure coding practices.
• Present project achievements and recommendations to hirify.global leaders at the end of the 12-week internship.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, Business, or a related field.
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and August 2028.
• Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in the Ashburn office at least 3 days per week.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, C/C++, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, or HTML.
• Must already have U.S. work authorization; hirify.global will not sponsor work hirify.globals for this position.

Nice to have

• Experience with Selenium, REST, Python, or Groovy automation and testing tools.
• Familiarity with software testing principles and software engineering methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and process analysis skills.
• Ability to lead, handle ambiguity, collaborate, and work toward results.
