Software Engineering Intern, Backend (Fintech)

Location: Menlo Park, California; Bellevue, Washington; or New York, New York, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

Salary: $60 per hour in the listed compensation zone.

What you will do

• Own a high-impact backend project from initial scoping through production launch.
• Design, build, test, and release software for a live financial platform.
• Work with a dedicated mentor throughout onboarding and project delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve organization-wide technical problems.
• Maintain and scale backend codebases, infrastructure, and data systems.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program with expected graduation in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and understanding of software engineering best practices.
• Experience from internships, hackathons, or personal software projects.
• Familiarity with Python/Django or Go, plus relational databases and transactions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to drive projects in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Interest in financial technology and fintech products.
