Principal IP Network Engineer (IP/MPLS)

Location: Athens, Attiki, Greece. Hybrid working combines remote and office-based work, with an option to work from abroad.

What you will do

• Define architecture and planning guidelines for international IP backhaul networks.
• Set technology principles and roadmaps for IP/MPLS and software-defined networking across engineering, transport, and service domains.
• Define principles for intent-based connectivity services, including data models and microservices for transport-service orchestration.
• Lead new product development for mobile and fixed services and act as a subject-matter expert in multi-service networking.
• Coordinate interfaces across operating companies, product management, technology, sales, customer services, IT, and suppliers.
• Plan KPIs, budgets, documentation, and complex transformation initiatives for transport backhaul networks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in IP architecture, design, testing, or operations across Internet and enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of IP/MPLS, including MPLS, BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, Ethernet QoS and OAM, L2/L3 VPNs, IPv6, multicast, broadband access, and service-provider networks.
• Advanced knowledge of software-defined networking technologies such as RESTCONF, NETCONF, PCEP, BGP-LS, gRPC Telemetry, and YANG.
• Programming and automation skills with Python, Ansible, and Puppet, plus knowledge of network security, hardware and software lifecycles, and operational KPIs.
• Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-management, and technology leadership skills in a multinational environment.

Nice to have

• CCIE certification or an equivalent qualification.
