Unix / AIX - Linux Systems Engineer

What you will do

• Configure, maintain, and optimize customer AIX and Linux environments.
• Maintain system availability, reliability, security, and performance.
• Troubleshoot complex system and infrastructure issues, including escalated incidents.
• Support testing and implementation of approved system changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Document configurations, procedures, and issue resolutions.

Requirements

• Technical college degree or relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of AIX, PowerHA, HMC, VIOS, Red Hat Linux, SUSE Linux, disaster recovery, and product maintenance or upgrades.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex systems and infrastructure issues.
• Knowledge of system programming practices and structured incident, problem, change, and inventory management processes.
• At least 2 years of hands-on AIX and Linux administration experience.
• Focus on delivering reliable outcomes for customer environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with automation tools or scripting for system programming tasks.
• Familiarity with IBM Power platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Experience in multi-vendor or enterprise-scale IT environments.
• Relevant technical certifications.
