System Engineer - Network Systems

Location: Hybrid; candidates who reach the offer stage may be asked to attend an in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub.

What you will do

• Develop software components and automation solutions that improve network resilience.
• Build and maintain tools, infrastructure, and services for a large global network spanning hundreds of data centers.
• Deliver practical, maintainable, scalable solutions that reduce engineering operational toil.
• Apply software development principles, design patterns, and programming languages such as Python and Golang.
• Use AI tools and automated assistants to streamline workflows and improve project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing software components for network automation.
• Knowledge of software development principles, design patterns, and programming languages such as Python and Golang.
• Proficiency with modern Unix/Linux operating systems and experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, or equivalent SQL technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD, containers or virtualization, and observability systems such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience working with AI assistants or automated tools to augment task execution and project delivery.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of network engineering, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols and equipment from vendors such as Cisco and Juniper.
• Experience building and maintaining large distributed systems.
• Experience managing internal or external customer requirements and expectations.
