Senior QA Analyst (Game Testing)

Independent video game developer creating player-driven virtual worlds and online gaming experiences, including EVE Online.

What you will do

• Own the team’s test approach, including test plans, test cases, regression coverage, and supporting documentation.
• Perform hands-on testing of gameplay features, mechanics, and interactions from design through release.
• Assess quality risks, estimate testing effort, and coordinate testing across the development team and outsourced testers.
• Manage defects through triage, investigation, prioritization, reproduction, documentation, and verification.
• Coordinate deployment testing and post-release verification across PC and Mac.
• Improve testing practices, monitor code and data changes, and contribute to automation where appropriate.

Requirements

• At least five years of software or game testing experience, including coordination with outsourced testers.
• Thorough understanding of development processes and testing throughout the project lifecycle.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including evaluating game mechanics, player feedback, controls, interfaces, rules, and rewards.
• Ability to prioritize testing by risk and communicate quality concerns clearly.
• Excellent written and spoken English and strong collaboration skills.
• Organized, methodical, proactive, curious, and creative approach to problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with scripting, Python, or other programming languages.
• Experience with test automation and Agile development teams.
• Knowledge of EVE Online or experience testing complex multiplayer gameplay systems.
