Forward Deployed Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: London, United Kingdom; on-site. Travel to client sites may be required for up to 25% of working time.

What you will do

• Act as the primary technical interface between hirify.global and client engineering teams across the full project lifecycle.
• Design and prepare cloud infrastructure for scalable Vault implementations, including high availability, disaster recovery, backup, redundancy, capacity, and security.
• Deploy and configure Vault products across client, SaaS, and internal cloud infrastructure.
• Advise clients on infrastructure optimisation and support cloud deployments both remotely and on site.
• Promote and deploy monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions while troubleshooting production infrastructure.
• Work with product, engineering, commercial, and cloud provider teams to incorporate client feedback and resolve presales infrastructure challenges.

Requirements

• Hands-on cloud infrastructure consulting experience.
• Experience with Linux/Unix administration, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and Istio.
• Experience with infrastructure automation or configuration management, such as Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
• Experience with AWS or GCP.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to work on site and travel to client locations for up to 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications in AWS, GCP, or Azure, ideally at architect level.
• Experience with enterprise secrets management, hybrid cloud technologies, and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience supporting high-profile, mission-critical production systems, especially in tier 1 financial institutions.
• Strong background in Go, Python, or Java, and experience with CockroachDB, AlloyDB, or Aurora.
