Facilities Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Bayan Lepas, Malaysia; onsite role supporting multiple manufacturing plants and after-hours building needs as required.

What you will do

• Lead the operational health, maintenance, repair, and monitoring of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and building management systems.
• Manage capacity and design changes based on manufacturing and customer requirements.
• Drive reliability improvements, safety performance, cost optimization, and facility system upgrades.
• Inspect facilities, analyze operating data, respond to emergencies, and coordinate major planned shutdown maintenance.
• Supervise HVAC preventive maintenance contractors, engineers, and technicians.
• Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, consultants, and internal facilities teams on system design, construction, compliance, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• 5–10 years of experience in facilities-related work, preferably in semiconductor, electronics, or related industries.
• Demonstrated leadership, management, and HVAC technical competence.
• Hands-on experience with predictive and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge and application of psychrometric principles.
• Ability to maintain compliance with government regulations, codes of practice, IMS requirements, contamination control, 5S, and safety standards.

Nice to have

• PMP or FMP certification.
• HVAC and cleanroom design knowledge.
