Electrical Engineer (Platforms)

Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The role supports Australian Defence programs and requires eligibility for ITAR clearance. Candidates must hold and maintain an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance; only applicants with Baseline Clearance or above should apply.

What you will do

• Provide platform systems engineering subject matter expertise and technical guidance across electrical platform systems.
• Deliver engineering outputs for changes, requirements, integration, verification, validation, testing, and evaluation.
• Oversee configuration control, systems safety, certification, compliance, and fitness-for-purpose assurance.
• Lead design reviews, technical risk assessments, engineering recommendations, and field services activities.
• Manage Requests for Problem Resolution and Requests for Variations through resolution, return to standard, permanent implementation, or cancellation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary internal and external stakeholders, subcontractors, and the DASSPO Principal Engineer.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with requirements development, design review, and acceptance within a regulated technical framework such as the Department of Defence.
• Membership of a recognised professional body and registration as a Chartered Engineer, or eligibility to obtain it.
• Eligibility for ITAR clearance and an active NV1 Defence Security Clearance are required; only candidates with Baseline Clearance or above should apply.
• Ability to work within Navy seaworthiness and Defence engineering governance frameworks.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering designs for a Department of Defence program.
• Experience in marine design or maintenance.
