Materials & Processes Technical Specialist II (Aerospace)

Salary: $38.40–$57.60 per hour

What you will do

• Execute materials and process prototyping, test coupon design, fabrication, testing, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot high-temperature composites and advanced heatshield processing challenges.
• Apply hands-on expertise in material processing, machining, and testing to resolve technical problems.
• Mentor and train new team members while maintaining high standards for quality and consistency.
• Support daily laboratory operations and collaborate across design, manufacturing, and operations.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in natural science, materials, or a related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace high-temperature materials processing, coupon fabrication, and testing.
• Experience with composite panel layup fabrication, surface preparation, and adhesive or bonding applications.
• Experience with advanced heatshield composite processing and machining, including vacuum infusion, cure processes, furnace operation, bandsaws, and CNC machines.
• Strong problem-solving skills, self-direction, and ability to learn quickly.

Nice to have

• Experience with DSC, LFA, TGA, dilatometer, and Instron load-frame testing equipment.
• CAD and software skills.
