Technical Service Trainer (Diesel Equipment)

Location: Tullamarine, Victoria / Melbourne, Victoria; 5 days in office required. Regular travel across Australia and New Zealand is required, with occasional international travel.

What you will do

• Deliver technical training for dealer technicians, customer technicians, hirify.global service personnel, technical support teams, and service professionals.
• Facilitate courses covering diesel engine troubleshooting, electronic diagnostics, emissions systems, power trains, engine applications, and hirify.global diagnostic tools.
• Deliver instructor-led classroom, practical, workshop, and virtual learning programs.
• Assess learner competency, provide coaching and technical guidance, and improve knowledge retention.
• Support the development of training content, assessments, and learning experiences.
• Partner with dealers, customers, engineers, and technical specialists to support regional capability initiatives.

Requirements

• Significant experience diagnosing and repairing hirify.global engines, machines, power systems, or related equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electronic systems.
• Experience with diesel engines, electronic controls, emissions systems, power trains, or engine applications.
• Excellent communication, presentation, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to learners with different experience levels.
• Willingness to travel throughout Australia and New Zealand, with occasional international travel; the role requires 5 days in the Melbourne-area office.

Nice to have

• Trade qualification in diesel mechanics, heavy vehicle mechanics, plant mechanics, automotive technology, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of experience as a qualified mechanic.
• Experience delivering technical training, mentoring, coaching, or workplace instruction.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• Experience in the hirify.global dealer network or advanced diagnostic and technical specialist certifications.
