TL;DR
Technical Officer - Simulation and Practical Experience (SPE) (Nursing and Midwifery): Preparing and supporting clinical teaching laboratories and simulation environments for Nursing and Midwifery students with an accent on equipment readiness, stock control, safe work practices, and practical learning support. Focus on maintaining compliant learning spaces, coordinating resources, and solving operational challenges across university simulation facilities.

Location: Primarily based at hirify.global Gold Coast in Southport, Australia; may require work across other university locations. Weekday shifts are scheduled between 7am and 6pm, with no night or weekend shifts.

Salary: AUD 76,126–80,321 per annum base salary, plus 17% superannuation.

What you will do

  • Prepare and maintain clinical teaching laboratories and simulation environments for Nursing and Midwifery students.
  • Provide technical support for practical classes and simulation-based learning activities.
  • Manage equipment, consumables, stock control and procurement.
  • Maintain safe, compliant and well-prepared learning spaces in line with Work Health and Safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with academic and professional staff on student learning experiences and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Relevant health qualification or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience in clinical, laboratory, simulation or technical support, preferably in healthcare, tertiary education or clinical skills environments.
  • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices and experience maintaining compliant learning environments.
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Practical experience supporting clinical learning spaces, simulation environments, equipment and resources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and willingness to learn new technologies. Applicants must have unrestricted working rights in Australia; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting Nursing, Midwifery or other Health discipline simulation activities.
  • Current driver’s licence.
