Principal Hydraulic Engineer (Defence Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Lead hydraulic building services design and delivery from concept development through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning.
• Provide technical leadership for potable water, sanitary drainage, trade waste, stormwater, rainwater harvesting, fire services interfaces, and specialist hydraulic infrastructure.
• Act as the lead hydraulic discipline engineer on major multidisciplinary Defence and secure infrastructure projects.
• Manage technical deliverables, resources, budgets, programme requirements, quality, and compliance.
• Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, calculations, design documentation, and engineering assessments.
• Mentor engineers, designers, and graduates while collaborating with clients, contractors, consultants, and other engineering disciplines.

Requirements

• Extensive experience delivering hydraulic building services projects, preferably in Defence, government, infrastructure, transport, health, education, or other complex built environment sectors.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic building services systems, water management principles, complex site-wide hydraulic networks, and resilient infrastructure.
• Experience managing technical delivery within large-scale multidisciplinary projects and technically challenging operational environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and project management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Hydraulic, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Chartered Engineer status (CPEng), or the ability to obtain chartership; a Baseline Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one is preferred.
