Director, CSA Design Management, APAC (Data Centers)

Location: Sydney, Australia. Full-time role with expected travel of approximately 25%.

Develops and operates data centers for hyperscalers, cloud providers, and large enterprises across North America, EMEA, and Asia Pacific, with a focus on reliability, efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.

What you will do

• Lead the development, review, and continuous improvement of regional civil, structural, and architectural design packages, standards, and engineering specifications.
• Own the design lifecycle from feasibility and concept through IFC, ensuring coordination with cost plans, schedules, and operational requirements.
• Establish design management processes covering deliverable tracking, IFT and IFC documentation, and KPI monitoring.
• Coordinate design changes across CSA, MEP, and ICT systems and support construction teams in resolving design-related issues.
• Support procurement, consultant selection, client meetings, technical presentations, and value engineering activities.
• Lead and mentor regional design and engineering teams while promoting BIM, prefabrication, modularisation, and low-carbon design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil or structural engineering, architecture, or a related technical discipline preferred.
• At least 15 years of experience in design engineering, design management, or related leadership roles within data centers or highly serviced buildings.
• Strong knowledge of data center civil, structural, and architectural requirements; MEP knowledge is an advantage.
• Experience managing full design lifecycles, multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and large-scale construction delivery.
• Strong knowledge of design coordination, change management, construction processes, cost, schedule, and project performance.
• Familiarity with APAC construction markets and applicable building codes, plus strong stakeholder and cross-cultural communication skills.
