Principal Hydraulic Engineer (Buildings)

Location: Hybrid role based in Brisbane or Sydney, Australia. In-person Day 1 onboarding at an office is required.

What you will do

• Act as Hydraulics Lead across building projects and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Lead hydraulic designs, calculations, technical reviews, sign-off, and task delegation.
• Work with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary project teams to develop practical and cost-effective solutions.
• Deliver hydraulic services covering rainwater harvesting, sanitary plumbing, drainage, trade waste, and potable and non-potable water systems.
• Design hot and warm water systems, energy-efficient and solar hot water systems, reverse osmosis, demineralised water, and water-efficient solutions.
• Support the national Hydraulics team on complex projects across multiple sectors.

Requirements

• Principal or Associate Director-level hydraulic engineering experience, ideally with 10+ years in a consulting environment.
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards, codes, and industry requirements.
• Relevant engineering degree or TAFE qualification, with RPEQ/RPEV registration or the ability to obtain it.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant industry software.
• Australian Citizenship or a pathway to Australian Citizenship is highly preferred due to project requirements.
