Senior Machine Learning Engineer - AI Platform

Location: Boulder, Colorado, USA; at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field

Annual base salary: $171,600–$257,400 for the primary Boulder location; $163,000–$288,000 for additional US locations. The role may also include bonus or commission and annual refresh stock grants.

What you will do

• Design and implement features for ML platforms, pipelines, and production services.
• Develop AI-powered user experiences using agentic AI, LLMs, RAG, and natural language understanding.
• Build and deploy cloud-based ML architectures, APIs, and model-hosting services with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Enable training, deployment, lifecycle management, evaluation, scalability, and observability for supervised and unsupervised models.
• Analyze large HR and Finance datasets and develop information retrieval and recommendation solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to more junior engineers while collaborating with product managers, application teams, and leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data or computer science, physics, mathematics, or an equivalent field; advanced degree preferred.
• 6+ years of experience building and delivering applied machine learning products at scale through production evaluation.
• 5+ years of professional Python experience and 5+ years working with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• 3+ years of experience with information retrieval or graph-based recommendation systems, and with production LLM, text-generation, or graph-based ML models.
• Experience with PySpark, PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Pandas, Kubernetes, Docker, data engineering, and data wrangling.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, supervised and unsupervised learning, NLP, and technical leadership in ambiguous problems.
