Senior Autonomy Engineer (AI)

Location: Irving, Texas; full-time onsite work in the office five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available. The position may require up to 20% travel.

Salary: $128,470–$208,770 per year

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, development, testing, deployment, and support of connectivity solutions across machines, sites, edge environments, and cloud platforms.
• Design resilient communication and telemetry platforms using cellular, satellite, Wi-Fi, and multi-link failover technologies.
• Build scalable systems for transferring high-throughput camera, LIDAR, radar, and other sensor data from vehicles and edge environments to the cloud.
• Evaluate technical tradeoffs across reliability, security, performance, cost, and maintainability.
• Lead architecture reviews, technical investigations, root-cause analysis, and cross-stack troubleshooting.
• Establish reusable engineering patterns, mentor engineers, and guide long-term platform decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, telecommunications, or a related field, plus 5 or more years of relevant experience.
• Experience with connected or autonomous vehicles, uncrewed systems, remote operations, or comparable safety-relevant platforms.
• Experience with wireless bonding, multi-WAN link aggregation, redundant-path design, Starlink or other satellite communications, LTE, LTE-M, NB-IoT, private LTE, or 5G.
• Experience with scalable telemetry, event-streaming, real-time, batch, cloud-native, and distributed-system architectures.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, architecture review, documentation, mentoring, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with industrial Internet of Things environments, device management, telemetry platforms, or data pipelines.
• Experience with autonomy technologies such as perception, sensor fusion, and path planning.
