Staff Platform Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $200,000–$220,000 base annually, plus bonus and equity

What you will do

• Design and enhance cloud infrastructure across multi-region and multi-cloud environments to improve reliability, cost efficiency, and capacity failover.
• Build custom Kubernetes tools, admission controllers, infrastructure code, and automation using Terraform, Go, Python, or Ruby.
• Support and extend Datadog observability infrastructure for deep visibility into system health and platform performance.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and resource constraints.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on software architecture decisions and the removal of infrastructure pain points.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience managing Linux-based cloud infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in multi-region or multi-cloud resilience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience orchestrating production workloads in Kubernetes.
• Strong coding proficiency in Go, Ruby, or Python and experience building scalable infrastructure tools.
• Experience with Datadog, Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools, and AI coding agents.
• Clear communication and experience collaborating across engineering teams on complex platform problems.
