Senior Product Manager, Perception & World Understanding Skills (Robotics AI)

Location: Hybrid, based out of the Fremont, California office; all roles are U.S.-based. Applicants must have current authorization to work in the United States.

Salary: $186,000–$242,000 USD annual base salary.

What you will do

• Own the product strategy, priorities, and roadmap for Digit’s perception, world understanding, and learned robot capabilities.
• Translate customer workflows and application requirements into measurable technical requirements for perception, scene and object understanding, learned behaviors, adaptation, and motion planning.
• Define metrics, benchmarks, evaluation environments, datasets, and test scenarios covering accuracy, robustness, generalization, latency, failure behavior, and operational performance.
• Drive capabilities from research and prototype stages through validation, productization, and production deployment.
• Partner with robotics, machine learning, autonomy, simulation, systems engineering, and software teams to make technical trade-offs and coordinate cross-product dependencies.
• Communicate product direction, capability maturity, roadmap decisions, and technical trade-offs to engineering leaders, executives, commercial teams, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of product management or equivalent product leadership experience in robotics, autonomous systems, AI/ML, computer vision, or another deeply technical product environment.
• Strong understanding of machine learning, perception, robotics, autonomous systems, or related technical domains.
• Experience translating ambiguous customer or product problems into measurable technical capability requirements and defining metrics, benchmarks, or evaluation frameworks.
• Ability to work effectively with technical engineering and research teams, evaluate trade-offs, influence across teams, and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Current authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with computer vision, foundation models, reinforcement learning, imitation learning, learned policies, or multimodal AI systems.
• Experience with manipulation, mobile robotics, humanoid robots, or mobile manipulation platforms.
• Experience taking machine learning or robotics capabilities from research through production deployment.
• Experience with simulation, synthetic data, evaluation infrastructure, or large-scale robotics datasets.
• Experience in warehouses, logistics, manufacturing, or other industrial environments.
