Senior UX Designer (Visual Design)

Location: San Bruno, California, United States; onsite at 850 Cherry Ave

Salary: $117,000–$234,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

Walmart’s Global Design Systems team develops standards and digital solutions supporting customers, associates, and partners across retail, supply chain, home, stores, and mobile experiences.

What you will do

• Define visual and editorial identities for executive presentations, events, all-hands meetings, and other high-visibility communications.
• Set art direction standards across typography, layout, editorial systems, color, iconography, and motion.
• Deliver production-ready assets and support end-to-end event delivery, including event, streaming, stage, and broadcast graphics.
• Build reusable templates, editorial frameworks, and visual toolkits that enable consistent enterprise-wide outputs.
• Partner with executives to translate strategy into compelling visual narratives and influence key decisions.
• Define design standards, mentor designers, and extend accessible, scalable design systems.

Requirements

• Strong experience in graphic or visual design, brand identity, motion design, or studio/agency art direction.
• Portfolio demonstrating advanced typography, editorial design, brand systems, executive communications, and motion.
• Strong production discipline with Figma, After Effects or an equivalent tool, PowerPoint, clean file systems, and documentation.
• Experience building templates and reusable visual toolkits for large, complex organizations.
• Ability to build relationships, influence leaders, and work within or extend design systems.
• Minimum qualification: bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 3 years of relevant experience, or 5 years of relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Design certification, a master’s degree, or experience driving product development in a user experience area.
• Experience in retail, supply chain, e-commerce, healthcare, or another related industry.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, inclusive digital experiences, accessibility, localization, and front-end constraints.
