Senior Accountant (Health Insurance)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; hybrid near a hirify.global office. Occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required.

Salary: $78,400–$107,800 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Support month-end close by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing journal entries, account reconciliations, and related financial information.
• Perform accounting activities for eliminations, intercompany transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and Corporate Accounting Operations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, statutory accounts, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Review offshore team accounting work for accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls.
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and support projects that improve reporting accuracy, process efficiency, and business insight.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to research accounting issues, resolve questions, and communicate financial impacts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency and experience with Power Platform tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, or Power Apps.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to evaluate complex accounting issues, work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Must be located in the United States for the remote arrangement; a dedicated workspace and reliable internet service are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL, Power Query, VBA, or other coding and automation tools.
• Health insurance industry experience and month-end close experience.
• Experience with Databricks.
• CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification.
