Senior Accountant - General Ledger (Healthcare)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; hybrid arrangement with at least 60% or 24 hours of the work week on-site. Tuesdays and Thursdays are encouraged on-site days at the Sunnyvale headquarters. Travel of up to 10% may be required.

Salary: $109,000–$144,000 annual base pay, with potential bonus or incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, and variance reporting.
• Manage general accrual accounting across assigned cost centers and clinical trial accruals in partnership with Clinical Operations and FP&A.
• Prepare financial documentation for internal and external auditors.
• Design, implement, and maintain accounting processes, policies, and internal controls.
• Support SOX compliance activities and cross-functional accounting projects.
• Drive automation and process improvements, including the use of AI tools to reduce manual effort.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally combining public accounting and private industry experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting.
• Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Sunnyvale for at least 60% of the work week.
• Ability to work around dry ice, hazardous materials, blood specimens, and laboratory instruments, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
