Sr. SW AI Engineer (Java)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; hybrid work with at least 3 days in the office. The role is performed in an office setting and requires 5–10% travel.

Salary: $110,700–$171,800 USD per year, with potential bonus, equity, and sales incentive payments where applicable.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and tune multi-agent LLM workflows using LangGraph, LangChain, LangGraph4j, and LangChain4j.
• Build ReAct agents, supervisor/orchestrator patterns, MCP tool servers, agent memory architectures, and enterprise tool integrations.
• Develop RAG pipelines with document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, PostgreSQL with pgvector, and semantic retrieval.
• Build Spring Boot microservices in Java 21 that expose REST APIs and integrate with enterprise data sources and LLM inference gateways.
• Implement confidence scoring, human feedback loops, audit trails, observability, and tests for non-deterministic AI components.
• Deploy containerized AI services using Helm, Jenkins, Kubernetes, and OpenShift across on-premise data centers.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional experience with a Bachelor's or advanced degree; relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Backend development experience with Java 17+, preferably Java 21, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and JPA/ORM.
• Hands-on experience building agentic AI systems with multi-agent graph construction, conditional routing, state schemas, and ReAct prompting.
• Experience with MCP, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, LLM observability, PostgreSQL/pgvector, and structured AI outputs.
• Experience deploying services on Kubernetes or OpenShift, authoring Helm charts, and maintaining Jenkins or equivalent CI/CD pipelines.
• Availability to work from the Austin office at least 3 days per week.
