What you will do

• Characterize, calibrate, and operate superconducting quantum devices and processors.
• Develop experimental procedures, theoretical models, simulations, and data-analysis routines.
• Design improvements to processor operation and create parametric designs for new device capabilities.
• Analyze and reduce noise while assessing the impact of packaging, electronics, cryogenics, and other processor-environment factors.
• Develop and contribute to LISP infrastructure for modeling, calibration, and processor operation.
• Document experimental results and collaborate with scientists, designers, engineers, applications developers, marketing, and intellectual property teams.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or M.Sc. in physics or a related discipline, or equivalent experimental research experience.
• Strong critical-thinking, technical problem-solving, independent research, and communication skills.
• Experience with software development for experimental design and automation, data acquisition, and data analysis.
• Ability to learn new technical topics, programming languages, and software concepts quickly.
• Ability to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary problems and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Background in quantum information, superconducting devices, device physics, noise models, or device characterization is valuable.
