Lead Application & Data Architect (Microsoft Fabric)

Salary: $107,500–$188,400 USD annually, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture roadmap and target-state architectures for analytics, reporting, AI, and operational workloads.
• Lead Microsoft Fabric architecture and governance across OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Fabric Data Factory, semantic models, and security.
• Establish standards for dimensional modeling, Data Vault, fact and dimension design, slowly changing dimensions, and ETL/ELT architecture.
• Create governance frameworks for data quality, lineage, metadata, security, privacy, and compliance.
• Define AI-ready data architecture patterns and support AI, machine learning, and generative AI initiatives.
• Conduct architecture reviews, mentor engineers, develop reference architectures, and promote Specification-Driven Development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, data warehousing, or analytics.
• 3+ years in a senior architecture or technical leadership role.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms and modernization initiatives.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Fabric Data Factory, SQL Server, Azure Data Lake Storage, OneLake, dimensional modeling, Data Vault, ETL/ELT, CDC, data governance, metadata management, SQL, and T-SQL.
• Onsite participation at a hirify.global office may be required during the interview process.

Nice to have

• Azure Synapse Analytics, Spark, PySpark, Power BI, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD for data platforms.
• AI and machine learning platform experience and enterprise architecture governance experience.
• Specification-Driven Development experience.
• Qlik Replicate, Qlik Compose, SSIS, Pentaho Data Integration, and legacy data warehouse modernization experience.
• Preferred certifications include Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Fundamentals, TOGAF, and CDMP.
