Fraud Investigator II (Fraud Operations)

Location: Remote within Texas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Michigan, North Carolina, Washington, San Antonio, or Spokane

Salary: $22.96–$26.41 per hour for first-year compensation in Washington State outside the greater Seattle area

What you will do

• Investigate account takeovers, payment fraud, phishing, and organized fraud rings.
• Analyze fraudulent transactions and abusive conduct to protect platform integrity.
• Dispute chargebacks by gathering evidence to reduce financial losses and maximize recovery.
• Review identity verification and background checks to confirm user authenticity.
• Triage account safety incidents involving flagged content, harassment, and Terms of Service violations.
• Manage appeals for deactivated accounts and contribute fraud and identity expertise to cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Fraud Operations, Cybercrime, or Identity Services.
• Availability for a regular schedule including some holidays and at least one weekend day per week.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong analytical skills, impartial judgment, autonomy, and the ability to summarize investigation findings for leaders and stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience in customer-facing support, content moderation, two-sided marketplaces, payments, cybercrime, or fraud techniques.
• SQL query-writing experience.
• CFE certification.
• Experience using hirify.global as a pet owner or sitter.
