Field SIU Investigator (Insurance Fraud)

Location: Remote within the United States; applicant must reside in a commutable location to Miami or Fort Lauderdale

Annual salary: $32.05–$49.86

What you will do

• Investigate suspected fraud and other illegal activities involving the company.
• Conduct interviews, obtain in-person and phone statements, perform database inquiries, and locate witnesses and other information sources.
• Gather and evaluate evidence, assess credibility, and draw conclusions for fraud investigations.
• Refer and coordinate investigation assignments with outside agencies.
• Provide training and support to departments involved in the claims-handling process.
• Investigate vehicles and commercial assets, including RVs, while safely performing field duties.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field, or relevant investigative experience.
• Five years of insurance claims or professional investigation experience, or seven years of investigation experience involving economic or insurance matters.
• Experience gathering evidence, handling statements, organizing investigative workloads, and managing stressful situations.
• Clear, concise professional writing and knowledge of regulations, legal concepts, case law, medical treatments, and terminology.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license, certifications, and permits.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment, work around vehicles, and maintain situational awareness during field investigations.

Nice to have

• Four-year degree or higher.
• SIU investigation experience across diverse teams and functions.
• Experience with financial, casualty, bodily injury, workers' compensation, commercial, marine, auto, property, or underwriting fraud.
• Experience handling complex fraud cases or fraud rings and using public-record and claims databases.
• Professional designations such as CIFI, CFE, FCLA, or CPCU.
