Staff Frontend Engineer (DataViz/React)

Location: Remote; candidates must be located in Canada or the US and work in EST/CST time zones

Salary: CAD 186,368–223,642 annually, plus Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)

hirify.global develops Grafana Cloud, an open-source observability platform used to monitor reliability, investigate incidents, and analyze telemetry at scale.

What you will do

• Lead multi-quarter technical initiatives from problem framing through rollout, incorporating user feedback and measuring outcomes.
• Build and evolve Grafana visualizations that help users understand data and identify valuable insights.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, design feedback, pairing, and technical writing.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities, incident response, and post-incident learning.
• Support customer escalations and identify areas of product friction.
• Represent the DataViz squad in cross-team discussions, design proposals, demos, and roadmap planning.

Requirements

• Strong experience leading technical projects, mentoring engineers, and acting as a technical force multiplier.
• Experience operating production software, participating in on-call rotations, and responding to incidents.
• Ability to solve complex engineering problems independently and deliver production-quality software.
• Experience with TypeScript and React; familiarity with uPlot and eCharts is relevant to the primary stack.
• Practical experience with AI technologies and frameworks.
• Availability to work remotely from Canada or the US in EST/CST time zones.

Nice to have

• Open-source contribution or maintainership experience.
• Interest in observability, including metrics, logs, and traces.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, or other observability platforms.
• Experience working in a fully remote, globally distributed team.
