Senior Frontend Engineer, Home Experience

Location: Remote - United States

Base salary: $190,800–$267,100 USD annually, plus potential equity and commission depending on the position offered.

What you will do

• Build and launch frontend products and features for Reddit’s high-traffic Feed pages.
• Collaborate with product, design, backend, and client engineering teams on web architecture and product roadmaps.
• Own major projects through design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Write and review code and design documents, provide feedback on product specifications and mocks, and ensure delivery.
• Improve engineering standards, developer workflows, system observability, and operational excellence.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a metrics-led execution culture.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software development experience in frontend-focused programming languages.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or ES6 and frontend frameworks such as LIT, Polymer, React, Vue, or Angular.
• Strong CSS knowledge, organizational skills, communication skills, and focus on user experience and usability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment with technical and non-technical partners.
• Must be based in the United States; the role is remote for U.S.-based employees.

Nice to have

• Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, or Thrift.
• Ability to design and implement maintainable APIs.
• Experience with large-scale web applications, high requests per second, complex pages, or social products.
