Production Manager (Events and Exhibits)

Location: Lanham-Seabrook, Maryland, United States. On-site work in office and manufacturing environments, with occasional travel and irregular hours that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call status.

Salary: $58,642.08–$76,234.705 per year.

What you will do

• Manage production from project inception through closure, including budgets, work breakdown structures, schedules, and quality objectives.
• Produce medium to large projects across exhibits, events, experiential marketing, permanent installations, and tradeshows.
• Develop fabrication techniques, critical paths, production timetables, custom scenic orders, and installation logistics plans.
• Coordinate with fabrication, event management, CAD engineering, operations, subcontractors, venue staff, clients, and other departments.
• Conduct site surveys, monitor production status, resolve issues that may cause cost overruns, and maintain information flow across departments.
• Lead post-production reviews and documentation to identify improvements for future projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in special events, theatre, exhibit, or entertainment-related production management.
• Experience fabricating scenery, exhibits, props, or permanent display installations.
• Experience with estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and knowledge of production procedures, materials, installation methods, and applicable codes.
• Working knowledge of Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office, plus AutoCAD or Vectorworks.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently and collaboratively, and handle demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
