Environmental Field Tech I (Environmental Services)

Location: Skowhegan, Maine, USA; on-site field work with emergency response during normal business hours and after hours.

What you will do

• Perform tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, sweeping, shoveling, and other remedial activities.
• Enter confined spaces such as manholes and perform high-pressure washing and cleanup operations.
• Respond to customer spills and environmental emergencies during and outside normal business hours.
• Set up and operate pumps, trailer-mounted generators, air compressors, light towers, pallet jacks, skid steers, and related equipment.
• Maintain equipment and work sites while following safety policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Experience with light and heavy equipment and hazardous or non-hazardous emergency response or cleanup.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and understand operational, technical, process, safety, and quality instructions.
• Knowledge of chemicals and safety data sheets, with the ability to identify and mitigate hazards.
• 0–2 years of relevant work experience; a valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.

Nice to have

• Current confined-space entry certification or the ability to obtain it after hire.
• Experience using hand tools, shop tools, instruments, tablets, or PCs.
• Accuracy, attention to detail, resilience, and confidence reporting unsafe practices.
