Systems Security Engineer III (Cybersecurity)

Salary: $108,496.89–$149,183.22 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain secure IT systems for the SAOC mission.
• Define and execute an automation roadmap, improve CI/CD integration, and streamline build, patch, and release processes.
• Lead the software configuration management lifecycle and facilitate Configuration Control Board governance.
• Manage baseline changes, release configuration items and build artifacts, and maintain supporting authorization and documentation packages.
• Collaborate with product management and developers to refine requirements, establish acceptance criteria, coordinate UAT, and improve quality early in the SDLC.
• Participate in high-level incident response, digital forensics, and an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in IT security or a related field; 9 years may substitute for the degree.
• Advanced understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Experience with NIST, ISO 27001, or comparable security frameworks and standards.
• Current, active Secret U.S. Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• Ability to work primarily at a computer, lift up to 25 lbs occasionally, participate in on-call response, and travel occasionally.

Nice to have

• ISSE CAP, ISSO Security+, CISA, CASP+, MCSE, Linux, or CCNP Security certification.
• Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
• Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
