IT Systems & Security Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; 10%–25% travel expected.

Salary: $123,250–$166,750 USD annually, based on experience.

What you will do

• Configure and secure Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Google Workspace, Google Cloud Identity, and related business systems.
• Deploy and operate mobile and unified endpoint management controls using platforms including Jamf and Microsoft Intune.
• Implement identity, multifactor authentication, permissions, endpoint security, logging, vulnerability management, patching, backup, and recovery controls.
• Support Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, networks, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and secure remote access.
• Troubleshoot customer environments with IT teams, service providers, vendors, and internal engineers.
• Test changes and create configuration records, diagrams, evidence, runbooks, checklists, scripts, and automation.

Requirements

• Experience administering, securing, and troubleshooting business IT environments.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Google Workspace, Jamf, and Microsoft Intune.
• Experience supporting Windows and macOS endpoints; iOS and Android experience is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with networking, firewalls, identity, logging, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, patching, and backups.
• Ability to troubleshoot methodically, document accurately, communicate clearly, and deliver results in a remote, asynchronous environment.
• US citizenship with CUI access is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCC High, Azure, Google Cloud Identity, Apple Business Manager, Android Enterprise, Microsoft Defender, or Microsoft Purview.
• Defense contractor or government experience, especially with NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, or CMMC 2.0.
• PowerShell, shell scripting, security monitoring, workflow automation, or relevant technical certifications.
