Image Processing Software Engineer Intern (Python/C++)

Location: On-site at the EROS Center near Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Three years of continuous U.S. residency are required for issuance of a government security credential.

What you will do

• Design and implement software components from detailed designs.
• Support software planning, including requirements definition, activity identification, and estimation.
• Develop, execute, and document software testing through test plans, procedures, and reports.
• Manage configuration change requests according to configuration management processes.
• Communicate technical status with mentors, supervisors, project leads, and other team members.
• Participate in code reviews and apply software development standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Experience with Python and C/C++, database systems, and Unix/Linux.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Three years of continuous residency in the United States are required for a government security credential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation for facility access.

Nice to have

• Postgres experience.
• Remote sensing, digital image or signal processing, and basic geography knowledge such as map projections.
• AWS Cloud Services experience, including S3, EC2, EKS, ECR, or Lambda.
• CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, or AI experience for software code generation and documentation.
