Senior Software Engineer (Computer Vision)

Location: Centreville, Virginia, United States; office environment required. U.S. citizenship is required, and the role involves frequent travel within the continental U.S.

Salary: $105,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Implement and optimize computer vision, video processing, and perception algorithms in C++.
• Build and configure software with CMake for low-SWaP embedded processors such as Nvidia Xavier and Orin.
• Integrate perception software into unmanned aerial systems and support benchtop testing, demonstrations, and field experimentation.
• Write software designs, technical documentation, reports, unit tests, and validation artifacts.
• Collaborate with software developers, external developers, customers, and other stakeholders to reuse software across programs.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and deliver work according to project schedules and budgets.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and qualification as a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR requirements.
• Willingness to work on government contracts and obtain a DoD security clearance; an active clearance is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of relevant software engineering experience with strong C/C++ skills, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software workflows.
• Experience with CMake, Python, Ubuntu and/or CentOS Linux, unit testing, debugging, Git, IDEs, and debuggers.
• Willingness to obtain or already hold FAA Part 107 certification and travel within the continental U.S. frequently.

Nice to have

• Experience with DDS, gRPC, or Rust.
• Familiarity with machine learning and computer vision concepts.
• Existing DoD security clearance.
