Senior Research Associate, Oligonucleotide Chemistry

Salary: $90,000–$108,000 per year, plus annual incentive bonus and equity grants.

What you will do

• Perform small-scale, high-throughput internal production of guide RNA for platform research and pre-clinical activities.
• Optimize synthetic reactions and purification methods for drug candidates and scalable oligonucleotide manufacturing.
• Operate and troubleshoot Mermade192 and Mermade12 oligonucleotide synthesizers.
• Collaborate with the Internal Manufacturing team during process transfer.
• Participate in cross-functional research and manufacturing activities and present experimental results.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant industry experience for BS holders or 3+ years for MS holders.
• Experience with upstream and downstream processing of oligonucleotides.
• Experience with Mermade192 and Mermade12 synthesizers.
• Ability to optimize and implement synthesis and purification processes for complex oligonucleotides.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Äkta100 oligonucleotide synthesizer.
• HPLC purification and guide RNA analytics experience.
• Experience with enzymatic ligation techniques and ELNs for documenting experimental results.
