Mechanic III, Farming Shop (Diesel Equipment)

Location: Edinburg, Texas, USA; onsite work in farm shops and field environments, with up to 75% of work time performed in road service.

What you will do

• Maintain, inspect, diagnose, repair, and overhaul tractors, trucks, forklifts, brush shredders, spray equipment, vehicles, and other farm machinery.
• Perform scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance for farm equipment and rolling stock.
• Provide field and road service, including testing, adjustments, component replacement, and repairs with hand and power tools.
• Maintain service, repair, maintenance, and tool-accountability records.
• Report equipment conditions and upcoming maintenance needs to the shop Supervisor.
• Follow safety procedures and keep shop areas and equipment in safe, efficient condition.

Requirements

• At least three years of hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel equipment, heavy equipment, trucks, or similar machinery.
• Experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing gasoline and diesel engines.
• Basic fabrication and stick welding skills for standard repairs and simple component modifications.
• Valid driver's license and strong equipment troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, follow written and verbal instructions, read diagrams and schedules, and comply with safety requirements.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in shop and field environments involving uneven terrain and moving mechanical equipment.

• Technical training, vocational education, or equivalent work experience.
• ASE, OEM, or equivalent industry certifications.
