Manufacturing Engineering Intern Summer 2027 (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; full-time, on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027.

Salary: $28 USD per hour in California. A relocation stipend may be available.

What you will do

• Work with design, production, and quality teams to develop and qualify processes for manufacturing rocket engines.
• Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve practical manufacturing challenges.
• Work closely with a mentor and department employees to develop technical and professional skills.
• Provide progress updates through regular one-to-one meetings with mentors and supervisors.
• Participate in technical talks and professional networking events with interns and employees.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in engineering, physics, or mathematics, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• At least 3 months of applied engineering experience through an internship, laboratory work, or personal/team projects.
• Ability to work full-time on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning in May or June 2027.
• For work in U.S. offices, eligibility under U.S. Government ITAR export regulations is required.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 or above and at least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
• Solid modeling, CAD/CAM, FEA, 3D printing, or GD&T experience.
• Experience with CNC machines, mills, lathes, and powered equipment.
• Experience with Siemens NX, Jira, SolidWorks, or ANSYS.
