Communications Advisor (Healthcare)

Location: NL Head Office MHNL, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

Salary: CAD 70,000–85,000 per year, plus eligibility for discretionary performance-based incentive programs.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver communication plans supporting organizational priorities, business initiatives, operational updates, and key projects.
• Create and coordinate newsletters, employee updates, presentations, key messages, speaking notes, website content, social media posts, and other communications materials.
• Support employee engagement, internal communications, change management, organizational projects, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Build relationships with leaders, project teams, and stakeholders to identify communication needs and provide strategic advice.
• Monitor regional and national news, emerging issues, and trends that may affect operations or organizational reputation.
• Coordinate employee meetings, leadership communications, town halls, and engagement activities while tracking communication outcomes.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of progressive experience in a strategic communications role.
• Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Experience translating corporate vision into targeted communication strategies and delivering them in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal, project management, stakeholder, and relationship-building skills.
• Understanding of communications strategies in emergency medical services and/or healthcare; flexibility to work outside normal hours and travel occasionally.
