Associate Scientist (Immunoassay)

Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA; onsite laboratory-based position.

Annual base salary: $78,100–$116,200, with potential discretionary or non-discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Design and execute experiments for reagent and assay development with minimal supervision.
• Implement experimental plans, troubleshoot issues, and execute solutions.
• Analyze experimental data using spreadsheets and graphing software.
• Prepare and present concise summaries, recommendations, and data analyses to peer and supervisor review groups.
• Maintain laboratory supplies, equipment, inventories, materials, and electronic inventory databases.
• Monitor and report on laboratory or functional-area infrastructure when assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field.
• Experience running antibody-based assays, developing reagents, and supporting product development.
• Strong knowledge of scientific fundamentals, immunoassay technology, data analysis, statistics, and laboratory techniques.
• Ability to execute complex experiments, identify issues, and perform troubleshooting independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a laboratory environment, including occasional handling of BSL-2 materials and organisms such as human blood or blood products.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in life sciences or a related field.
• Training and experience with Biosafety Level 2 techniques.
• Knowledge of GraphPad Prism and SharePoint.
