Senior Terraform Infrastructure Engineer (Azure Migration)

Location: Seattle metropolitan area; onsite at the client’s Bellevue, Washington location five days per week

Salary: $143,400–$172,100 USD annually for candidates based in Washington State; midpoint of $157,600

What you will do

• Lead Terraform architecture for Azure migration landing zones, networking, identity, security, application platforms, databases, monitoring, and environment promotion.
• Build reusable Terraform modules and environments for Azure networking, private connectivity, Container Registry, Container Apps, Azure SQL, Key Vault, managed identities, monitoring, and access controls.
• Evaluate AKS workloads and Azure VM-hosted applications to determine modernization opportunities and platform dependencies.
• Design Azure Container Apps environments for APIs, web applications, workers, jobs, and event-driven services using revisions, traffic splitting, rollback, KEDA, and scale-to-zero.
• Containerize VM-hosted applications with secure OCI images, multi-stage builds, non-root execution, vulnerability scanning, logging, and health probes.
• Plan database migrations, observability, testing, cutover, rollback, security evidence, operational runbooks, and capacity validation in partnership with engineering, security, data, and operations teams.

Requirements

• At least eight years of experience in infrastructure, platform, cloud engineering, DevOps, or solution architecture.
• At least five years delivering production Azure environments with Terraform, with seven or more years of Terraform architecture experience.
• At least seven years of expert AKS and Kubernetes troubleshooting experience and experience supporting containerized APIs and web applications.
• Experience with Azure migration architecture, Azure VM modernization, Docker or OCI images, Azure Container Apps, Azure networking, private connectivity, managed identities, Entra ID, Key Vault, RBAC, Azure SQL, CI/CD, and Azure Monitor.
• Experience owning at least two VM- or AKS-based application and database migrations through testing, security review, cutover, and rollback.
• Must be based in the Seattle metropolitan area and work onsite in Bellevue five days per week.
