What you will do

• Catalogue jewels and related materials for auctions and private sales, developing expertise in descriptions, gemological terminology, jewelry dating, styles, and makers.
• Research property and prepare catalogue footnotes, biographies, website content, and supporting imagery.
• Assist with printed and online catalogue production, including photography, image proofing, text proofing, and deadline management.
• Support exhibitions and sales through condition reports, client assistance, interest tracking, underbid recording, and bidding when needed.
• Assist with auction evaluations, appraisals, online valuation requests, estimates, consignments, proposals, and marketing materials.
• Coordinate gemological and authenticity certificates, external suppliers, workshops, and export documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a relevant field.
• At least two years of experience in the jewelry field; auction house experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of gemology, jewelry history, and jewelry values.
• Excellent communication, writing, client service, organization, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

• Graduate Gemology degree from the GIA.
• Auction house experience.
