Security Research Engineer III (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote role associated with Austin, Texas and U.S.-based employment; visa sponsorship is not available.

Base salary: $108,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain internal tooling for acquiring and parsing recaptured underground data.
• Build and deploy cloud infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code technologies.
• Develop automated CI/CD pipelines for testing and deploying tooling and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with security researchers to target and collect new data sources.
• Identify automation opportunities in recaptured-data workflows and ETL pipelines.
• Investigate threat actors, malware, and other security research topics.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in cybersecurity.
• Advanced Python skills; experience with internal tooling and public cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform and Ansible.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in mathematics, science, engineering, or business.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and collaborate on complex problems.

Nice to have

• Golang proficiency.
• Experience delivering security analytics products for large enterprises.
• Experience acquiring and processing malware-exfiltrated data.
• Experience using data science to detect fraud or cyberthreats.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases and efficient database architecture.
