Manager, IT Ops Engineering

Location: San Francisco Bay Area; in-office 3 days per week

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 US base salary per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Build, lead, hire, develop, and retain an IT Ops Engineering team.
• Set technical direction for identity, devices, connectivity, SaaS, and endpoint security systems.
• Own reliability, service coverage, onboarding, offboarding, escalation models, and on-call rotations.
• Drive vendor-native automation and no-code or low-code workflows to eliminate repetitive work.
• Partner with Enterprise Security, Enterprise Platform Engineering, People, Finance, and Procurement.
• Manage vendors, license optimization, access reviews, compliance support, and audit needs such as SOX.

Requirements

• Experience leading IT professionals, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and team development.
• Deep hands-on systems experience across identity, endpoint management, networking, SaaS administration, audiovisual and conferencing systems, or endpoint security.
• Experience with technologies such as Okta, SSO, SCIM, MFA, Jamf, Intune, WiFi, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Zero Trust, EDR, or DLP.
• Strong automation skills and an outcomes-focused approach to measuring time saved and risk reduced.
• Clear written communication, a collaborative working style, secure-by-design thinking, and comfort with ambiguity.
