Software Engineer III (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, testing, and optimization of complex software components.
• Debug advanced software issues and support software integration with hardware systems.
• Define software requirements and specifications with stakeholders.
• Conduct code reviews, maintain technical documentation, and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure code quality and compliance with engineering standards.
• Drive continuous improvement of software performance and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in C++, Java, or Python.
• Practical knowledge of engineering principles and experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with RTOS and embedded systems.
• Aerospace and defense industry experience.
• Knowledge of C, C#, C++, HTML, Java, Python, and Bash.
• Experience with requirements tracking, code review, static analysis, repositories, and automated build tools.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, Spiral methodologies, and data structures.
