Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; up to 10% travel may be required. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Base pay: $150,931–$211,303 per year for Colorado applicants; other site ranges may differ.

Develops reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems, including the Blue Ring spacecraft for on-orbit mobility, payload hosting, and space infrastructure.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded flight software and hardware interface layers for the Blue Ring spacecraft.
  • Implement software requirements from system-level specifications and maintain traceability across the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop tests to verify software functionality and performance.
  • Collaborate with avionics, systems, and propulsion engineers to define interfaces and resolve cross-discipline technical issues.
  • Participate in software design, code, and technical peer reviews.
  • Debug complex software and hardware/software integration issues in laboratory and test environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of professional embedded software development experience.
  • Proficiency in C++ for resource-constrained embedded environments.
  • Experience with Python for engineering tooling, test automation, or scripting.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees.
  • A standard background check is required.

Nice to have

  • Flight software experience for spacecraft, launch vehicles, or other safety-critical aerospace systems.
  • Familiarity with DO-178, NPR 7150.2, or SMC-S-012 standards.
  • DevOps experience with CI/CD, automated testing frameworks, Git, Jenkins, or equivalent configuration management tools.
