System Test Engineer (Satellite Communications)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States; hybrid with at least 3 days per week in the office. Up to 10% travel is required.

Salary: $120,500–$190,000 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area, the range is $149,500–$224,500 annually.

What you will do

• Develop test plans, procedures, requirements, and test cases for government modem and satellite product systems.
• Support laboratory buildout and develop custom test hardware and automation using company and industry standards.
• Deploy test systems from hardware and software integration through design verification and operations.
• Run manual and automated tests covering functional, performance, robustness, and over-the-air terminal scenarios.
• Debug test setups, software configurations, and Linux-based products to support reliable software releases.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, software development, project engineering, and test teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience creating test requirements, plans, cases, methodologies, and manufacturing test documentation.
• Understanding of technical and process aspects of product design and evaluation.
• Experience with laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, and boundary scan tools.
• Experience with networking, the OSI model, MAC, TCP/IP, UDP, and Linux-based products.
• US citizenship is required, and the position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a United States Secret Clearance.
• Must be able to work from the Carlsbad office three days per week in a hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Programming or scripting experience with Python, C/C++, Java, or another language.
• Experience with requirements traceability tools such as DOORS or JAMA.
• Experience with wireless communications, satellite communications, SATCOM, or radio-frequency systems.
